Simple Meal

I believe it was the day after lent Gio's preschool had a dish to pass simple meal. Each family was to bring a dish that might be served in a less fortunate country. We brought Guatemalan beans which were a big hit. Another family brought a rice, beans, and corn dish which was very good. Everyone else brought fruit. We also brought jack fruit and lychees and no one knew what they were. I am so glad I have some knowledge of other cultures and also glad that Gio attends a preschool that is trying to teach cultural awareness in a "nonpolitacally correct" way.
Gio leading the parade. Gio was so proud that we attended his simple meal and also that he brought Guatemalan beans. He talked about it for several days after.

Senses Day At Preschool

Smell and taste They all have their eyes closed and are trying to guess what is on the paper plate. It's peanutbutter and crackers.
Guess the smell
Shaving cream
Sense of touch
Listening. The children would listen to a sound and then try to find the appropriate picture.

E, Circle,and Yellow

Breetz now recognises the letter E, the color yellow, and the circle shape. He can also say each of these words. He is talking up a storm. He now regularly uses three word sentences. He also loves being read too.
Gio is always asking about the meanings of words. He is now sounding words out. He thinks words that have the same letter twice should pronounce that letter twice for example the word coffee. He asks what words sound like pronounced backwards and was very interested in learning new words for awhile there. We would read together at least once a day, reading the words he knew. He's not quite so interested in reading words lately but he still loves to be read to.
I just love it when I'm in the next room making dinner or something and it gets quiet, I peek in the next room and see them snuggled together or sometimes just sitting next to one another reading. Sometimes Gio reads to Breetz and other times they are just each engrossed in a separate book.
Bob The Builder is still a big part of their lives. They play with their Bob Builder toys every day. We acquired a small red toolbox for several weeks Gio took it wherever he went. Then for awhile he tried out other things to carry his Bob Builder things in. I would have to say the most memorable being a cereal box.
